Mormon Minute: Weekly LDS News Recap for December 5, 2014
LDS.net’s Mormon Minute recaps LDS news that happened during the week in the Mormon world. This week, we talk about: the new First Presidency newsletter that was sent out this week, the #SharetheGift Christmas campaign, and the upcoming Christmas devotional.
0:10 – Worldwide Newsletter Email
The first monthly newsletter from the First Presidency was sent out to members of the Church worldwide this week. Church officials say the newsletter is a way to communicate more effectively with the growing global membership. The letter will include a message from the First Presidency and information about upcoming events and resources important for members to know about. The emails are sent to the email address that links to each member’s LDS account, so make sure yours is up to date.
0:35 – Share the Gift Campaign
A new Christmas campaign put out by the Church is reminding members to share the gift this Christmas season. Members are encouraged to share the video and their testimony of Jesus Christ online. The Church hopes to spread the message far and wide… and the video is even playing in times square.
0:51 – First Presidency Christmas Devotional
And mark your calendars for the First Presidency Christmas devotional this Sunday. President Henry B. Eyring, Elders D. Todd Christofferson and Richard J. Maynes, and Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson will share Christmas messages along with performances from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and orchestra. The devotional will begin at six p.m. mountain standard time.
