Missionary Mom Gets Surprise Homecoming from Son on Her Birthday
After 25 months of service as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Petersen decided he wanted to surprise his mom for her birthday.
Believing that her son would return home from his mission in the Czech Republic the following week, Lori Petersen didn’t suspect a thing. While her husband took her to dinner to celebrate her birthday, Elder Petersen was arriving at the Salt Lake International Airport, where friends and family greeted him.
Petersen got her first surprise of the night when she returned home from dinner to a surprise birthday party. After the initial surprise of the party, Petersen still had no idea that there was another surprise waiting for her.
