‘The Other Side of Heaven’ Director Releases ‘Christmas Eve,’ Starring Jon Heder, Patrick Stewart

Mitch Davis, a film director and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will release his latest film, “Christmas Eve” this week.

Davis, the director of the popular 2001 film “The Other Side of Heaven,” says that his new holiday film is dramatic, comedic and transcendent. Davis produced the film with Larry King and his wife Shawn King.

The story revolves around six groups of New Yorkers who get stuck in six different elevators due to a power outage on Christmas Eve. The experience brings the characters laugher and holiday magic as their lives change in unexpected ways.

Jon Heder, Latter-day Saint actor and star of “Napoleon Dynamite,” stars in the film alongside Patrick Stewart, James Roday, Cheryl Hines, Max Casella, Julianna Guill and Gary Cole.

“Christmas Eve” is rated PG and opens in select theaters December 4.
