LDS Church Announces the Creation of Three New Missions in 2016

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the creation of three new missions during the year 2016.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo Mbuji-Mayi Mission, the Nigeria Owerri Mission and the Vietnam Hanoi Mission from existing missions.

Mormon Newsroom reports that the Church will realign the boundaries of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa and Democratic Republic of the Congo Lubumbashi missions to form the Democratic Republic of the Congo Mbuji-Mayi Mission. The Nigeria Port Harcourt Mission will be divided to create the Nigeria Owerri Mission.

The Vietnam Hanoi Mission will be formed from the Cambodian Mission, which previously included vietnamese-speaking missionaries who served in Vietnam.

These new missions are expected to be in full operation before July 1, 2016, according to Mormon Newsroom.
