Mormon Minute: Weekly News Recap for February 26, 2016

The Mormon Minute recaps news that’s happening in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This week, we cover: temple construction all over the world, new ministering resources, and an ‘Inside Out’ parody from a Provo YSA ward.

0:05 – Temple Re-dedication, Groundbreaking, and Open House

A lot is happening with temple construction in the Church, beginning with the re-dedication of the Suva Fiji Temple on Sunday. The category five tropical cyclone Winston rolled in the day before, causing organizers of the cultural celebration to cut the program short. All missionaries serving in the area and members involved in the dedication were reported safe following the storm, and the temple sustained no damage.

Church leaders and members also broke ground for the Barranquilla Colombia Temple last weekend and the Church announced the groundbreaking for the Durban South Africa Temple on April 9th.

And the construction of the Fort Collins Colorado Temple is coming to a close with the open house beginning mid August and running through September 10th.

0:48 – Ministering Resources

New resources for ministering ward and stake leaders are now available on LDS.org and cover ways to help members who have returned home early from a mission, are experiencing marital conflict, are struggling with mental health and other topics.

1:03 – ‘Inside Out’ Parody

And a group of creative young single adults in Provo have a parody based off the Pixar film “Inside Out” that shows what it’s really like dating girls from their ward’s Relief Society.
