Book of Mormon Central Launches New Video Channel

Since January 2016, Book of Mormon Central has been publishing concise and engaging weekly articles about the Book of Mormon.

These articles are called KnoWhys, because they help the reader first Know (or understand a concept) and then understand Why the concept is important. Each of these KnoWhys seeks to bring often difficult-to-understand scholarly research to a wider audience through video, charts, graphs, a podcast, and memes.

With now over 320 articles, readers can gain access to new insights into the Book of Mormon like never before. The current Book of Mormon Central YouTube channel has been a great tool for sharing these KnoWhy videos and allowing the world to see the amazing depth of this significant book.

Why a New Channel is Needed

Most of these videos are only about a minute long, and have been designed more as a “trailer” with the hope of pointing the viewer to the main article, where they can learn more in-depth details.

These videos have been a great resource, and will continue in the future. That said, the video team at Book of Mormon Central are excited to announce a new channel called BMC Studios that will contain new, longer, stand-alone videos, with the hope of teaching entire concepts within these new videos. This new channel will be a place where they try out new “series” of videos, new formats, and engage with the audience in different ways than before.

To kick off the start of their new channel, they have released the first video of a new series called “Evidences of the Book of Mormon.” The series will focus on several of the best archeological, literary, and cultural evidences of the Book of Mormon.

The first video is on the discovery of Nahom, the likely place where Ishmael was buried as recorded in 1 Nephi 16:34. Watch it below:

Future videos will discuss subjects such as the discovery of Chiasmus (a Hebrew poetic form found in scripture), the literary complexity of the Book of Mormon, and the intricacies of the geographical map. They are excited about future projects, and are very interested in your feedback on what you hope to see in the future.

Subscribe to their channel and tell them how you feel and what you would like to see there.
