Tour the Biblical Tabernacle Replica at BYU

The Religious Education and Religious Studies Center at Brigham Young University present an opportunity to tour a full-size replica of the wilderness tabernacle the Israelites built during the Exodus from Egypt.

A display of temple object replicas, and even the priestly garb worn by Aaron, is mounted in the Joseph Smith Building, and the tabernacle is erected in the grassy area outside. The tours opened in time for the Feast of Trumpets and will continue to the 29th of October.

The tabernacle replica, or similar replicas, have been touring the western U.S. and have provided a connection for LDS Aaronic Priesthood holders to their ancient roots. The experience has been moving especially for the youth of the stakes that have hosted the replica.

All tours are free and begin in the Joseph Smith Building lobby, but are only available with an EventBrite ticket, either printed or as an email, for a specific timed tour.

  • Public access is free, but by tour and ticket only.
  • Tours begin every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour, and last 50 minutes total.
  • Each tour can only accommodate 49 people maximum.
  • All tours begin at the display in the Joseph Smith Bldg (JSB) lobby, not at the Tabernacle entrance.
  • We expect this opportunity will be of interest to many people.  Please understand that it is first reserved, first served! We apologize in advance to those who are interested but are not able to join us due to space limitations.
