7 Stereotypes of the Singles Ward

The Recently Returned Foreign Missionary

These people generally forget to speak English. Thay may still have an accent because they got home last week. It will eventually wear off though!

The Not-So Recently Returned Missionary

These people constantly talk about their mission. Almost like its a personality trait, which would be totally normal if they had recently returned… but they came home 5 years ago. I understand how impactful a mission can be, but it is important to continue to have spiritual experiences in the years following.

The Husband Hunter

This person is very clear about the fact that they are really only here to find a husband. I mean, you go, girl. At least you know what you want. A YSA ward would definitely be the right place to look.

The Forever Bachelor

While it may seem like most of the guys in your singles ward are actively dating, there’s always that one guy who hasn’t quite grown up yet. While he may spend a while enjoying his life a bachelor, don’t worry. He will be ready for the next steps in life eventually.

They bring lots of cookies, they always offer service, and they have probably asked you out on a date. Sometimes it’s really sweet, sometimes it’s kind of creepy. It just depends on the person.

She’s not actually the RS President but she might act like it because she has an unimaginable amount of enthusiasm. This person loves to serve and her drive to love cannot be fenced in.

The Engaged Couple

This couple is inseparable and attached at the hip. They basically just can’t wait to be married and they don’t really come to any activities anymore. But trust me, they are active in the Church, they just don’t hang out with you as much as they used to.
