An Inside Look into the Salt Lake Tabernacle’s Attic
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir shared a video on YouTube giving viewers a unique tour of the Salt Lake Tabernacle.
Construction on the tabernacle was completed under the direction of Brigham Young in 1867, nearly 150 years ago, and is still used today. As the home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, many Latter-day Saints travel to temple square to see the choir perform in this piece of history.
In the video the choir shared, viewers can take a tour of the tabernacle’s attic. The video showcases the building’s intricate design and how they used rawhide straps to keep the wood from cracking.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir posted to their website that tens of thousands of nails were used to build the tabernacle and, despite structure-reinforcing renovations, the pioneers’ original work remains.
Watch the video, posted above, to see the unique tour.
