Calling all LDS Poets! This is a great opportunity to get published and earn prizes. Now is the perfect time to share your thoughts, feelings, experiences, ideas and beliefs in LDS.net’s Poetry Contest.
Poem Details
Poems must be themed in Mormon culture, history, or beliefs fitting the tone and purpose of LDS.net. Original, unpublished poems are welcomed. Limit 5 submissions per participant.
Submission Process
Email your poem with your full name to submit@ldsnet.email by January 31, 2015 at midnight MST. Send a separate email for each submission.
Winner Selection
The LDS.net editorial team will choose 15 finalists whose poems will be published on LDS.net. Public voting will then open and winners will be chosen by two LDS poet judges with popular vote acting as the third judge.
We are happy to announce that the contest will be judged by Tyler Chadwick, editor of Fire in the Pasture, and Michael Tatum former Idaho Senior Poet Laureate.
Prizes
The 1st place poet will earn $75, the runner-up will earn $25 and all 15 finalists will be published.
Publishing Rights
For published finalists, LDS.net reserves exclusive publishing rights for six months with non-exclusive rights for the life of LDS.net.
Timeline
January 31st: Submission deadline at midnight MST. February 3: Finalists announced and published; public voting begins. February 10: Public voting closes. February 13: Winners announced.
