Church Announces Two More Temple Dedications in 2015
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that both the Trujillo Peru Temple and the Indianapolis Indiana Temple will be dedicated during the summer of 2015.
Along with the dedication of these two temples, the Church also released the dates for the open houses and cultural celebrations. The details are as follows:
Trujillo Peru Temple
The open house for the new Peru temple will begin on Friday, May 8, and continue through Saturday, May 30, 2015. The open house will run every day except Sundays. The cultural celebration will be held on Saturday, June 20. Following the cultural celebration, the Trujillo Peru Temple will be dedicated on Sunday, June 21, in three different sessions.
The Trujillo Peru Temple will become the second temple in Peru. The Lima Peru Temple was dedicated in 1986.
Indianapolis Indiana Temple
The Indianapolis Indiana Temple will open its doors to the public on Friday, July 17, and continue through Saturday, August 8, 2015. The open house will run every day of the week except for Sundays. Free tickets are required to enter the temple during the open house. The Indianapolis Indiana Temple cultural celebration will take place on Saturday, August 22, and will be followed by the temple’s dedication on Sunday, August 23. The temple will be dedicated in three different sessions.
The Indianapolis Indiana Temple will serve 25,000 Latter-day Saints in Indiana and eastern Illinois.
After both of these temples are dedicated, the Church will have 148 operating temples worldwide.
Temple open houses are free and everyone—regardless of religious affiliation—is invited to attend. Once the temples are dedicated, entrance will be reserved only for worthy Latter-day Saint members.
