Church Releases Photos of Fiji Cyclone Cleanup
Since Cyclone Winston hit Fiji on February 20, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been doing their part to help.
The cyclone interrupted the cultural celebration for the re-dedication of the Suva Fiji Temple, causing members who traveled to the mainland for the event to be stranded. Members have been staying at Church meetinghouses until they can return home.
Mormon Newsroom reports that missionaries serving in the area are providing meals, trimming fallen trees, and clearing debris. Along with the missionaries, local Church leaders have visited each area affected by the storm to assess the needs of food, water and hygiene items.
