Elder Christofferson Visits Family of Missing Returned Missionary

Elder D. Todd Christofferson, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, visited the family of Jennifer Cadillo, a returned missionary who went missing and was found dead several weeks ago.

Jennifer Cadillo had recently returned from serving a mission in Brazil when she was reported missing on February 23, 2015. Cadillo was last seen leaving the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires where she was completing the paperwork necessary to return back to Brazil to be a teacher in the missionary training center in Sao Paulo.

Christofferson, who was in Argentina for the dedication of the Cordoba Argentina temple, made it a priority to visit the Cadillo family. The mother of Jennifer, Luz Cadillo, expressed her gratitude, telling the LDS.net afilliate, Mormonsud.com,

Luz Cadillo also received a personal letter from President Thomas S. Monson in which he expressed the sadness which he felt when he heard of the incident. “I have put Jennifer’s name on the special prayer list of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles,” Monson wrote. “We remember her and keep your family in our prayers.”
