Google Bans Pornography Advertisements
LDS Living reports that Morality in Media met with Google last month to discuss ways they could work together to help protect families, children, and individuals from inappropriate content. On June 6, Google sent out a letter notifying of all its advertisers that pornographic content will no longer be allowed.
In the letter, Google reminded advertisers of the policy change, warning them that their ads may not receive approval from Google:
“Beginning in the coming weeks, we’ll no longer accept ads that promote graphic depictions of sexual acts including, but not limited to, hardcore pornography.”
Morality in Media also reports that Google will most likely no longer link to a site that contains inappropriate material, even if the actual advertising seems harmless.
