Hey, Non-Mormon Friends, Here’s Why I Post So Much About My Church
I post a lot of stuff about the Mormon Church, I know. Forgive me if it gets annoying, but I feel like my reasons for doing so are compelling, to say the least. I’ll get to those, but first I’ve got to cover a few bases.
I know you’re probably happy as can be concerning your current relationship with God, whatever form that may take. And I know it seems incredibly self-righteous and presumptuous of me to assume that Mormonism can offer you more than what you already have. But, please, hear me out.
I share so much stuff about Mormonism because I love it. It makes me happy, and I want to share it with you. That’s probably not the most kosher thing to do in this day and age, but if I like something, I want you to try it out too. The same goes for foreign candy (Kinder Eggs, anyone?), those new outlet stores or that hilarious YouTube video I saw yesterday. If I like it, I want to share it.
But that’s a scary thing to do with a religion. People get defensive and put up walls (myself included). What I share may contradict what you’ve been taught your whole life, and that could be construed as offensive. Trust me, I’m not trying to be.
Mormon beliefs are definitely different, but if you’ll allow them to, they’ll change you.
I share my beliefs because I care about you
For whatever reason, our paths have crossed. Maybe we were friends back when we were kids, or maybe we talked for two minutes at a bus stop and I thought you were cool.
