LDS Charities Offers Help to Victims of the Crisis in Iraq
LDS Charities is teaming up with other organizations to bring help to those who have been affected by the crisis in Iraq.
Deseret News reports that LDS Charities is offering humanitarian aid to camps where displaced individuals are located. Some of the aid given includes medical supplies, equipment and food. In addition to medical help, the organization is also bringing sources of entertainment for the children in the camps. During the warmer season, children have enjoyed movie nights outdoors through the use of donated DVD players and movies.
According to Deseret News, LDS Charities has left an impact on Nemam Ghafouri, a Muslim surgeon. Ghafouri says,

Since the start of winter, LDS Charities and the other organizations have proceeded to donate coats and blankets to provide warmth. In addition to donating warm clothing, LDS Charities is also providing white fabric to create dresses for the Yezidi women in the camps.
Due to the traditional design and religious significance the white dresses hold, they cannot be purchased from a store and must be made at a sewing center with the traditional method.
