‘Mercy River’ Mom Creates Song to Help Children Remember All of the Apostles

Whitney Permann, one of three Latter-day Saint mothers who formed the singing group Mercy River, created a song to help her family remember the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Permann created a song back in 2004, after Dieter F. Uchtdorf and David A. Bednar were called as apostles, and slightly adjusted the song in 2008 after President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away.

With the calling of three new apostles during this month’s general conference, Permann realized tweaking the old tune wouldn’t suffice. On the Mercy River blog, Permann explains,

[pull_quote_center]Now that we have three NEW apostles to add to the mix, using the same song AGAIN would be way too confusing (at least for my sleep deprived brain). I decided a brand new song would be easier on all of us.[/pull_quote_center]
