Mitt Romney Will Not Run for President in 2016

Mitt Romney announced Friday morning that he will not be running for President in 2016.

KUTV reports that Romney said,

[pull_quote_center]After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.[/pull_quote_center]

When Romney surprised supporters with the news of a possible 2016 campaign, some predicted that he would not be a good option. Hilary Clinton is presumed to run representing the Democratic party, and both supporters and non-supporters weren’t sure if Romney’s campaign could stand a chance.

“The decision this week of a top Romney operative in Iowa to sign up with Bush’s campaign was the latest in a series of defections, raising doubts on Romney’s chances going forward,” one long-time Romney supporter said. “He knew he needed to be defensive sooner rather than later.”
