Mormon Defensive End Featured in 2015 NFL Bad Lip Reading Video

Former BYU defensive end, Ezekial “Ziggy” Ansah, makes a cameo in the 2015 Bad Lip Reading video featuring the most recent NFL season.

Each year at the season’s end, Bad Lip Reading publishes a video to their YouTube channel featuring players from all the different NFL teams with fake voice-overs. In the 2015 lip reading video (for the 2014-15 season), Ansah, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is featured with a singing voice-over while doing his signature sack celebration.

The video was published yesterday and already has more than 8.5 million views.

The Detroit Lions drafted the Ghana-born football player in the first round (5th overall) in the 2013 NFL draft. During his first season with the Lions in 2013, Ansah recorded the most sacks by a Lions rookie since DT Ndamukong Suh.

Ansah was first introduced to American football when he attended a BYU football game in 2008 and originally wanted to play basketball. However, his friends and family convinced him to tryout for the BYU football team in 2010. During his college career, Ansah played in 31 games. The Detroit Lions report that while at BYU Ansah registered 72 tackles (39 solo), 4.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 10 pass defenses and one interception.
