Mormon Woman Qualifies for Marathon Olympic Trials

Amber Green, a marathon runner and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials which is held in Los Angeles on February 13, 2016.

She qualified for the Olympic trials by running the Grandma’s Marathon in 2:41:19 on June 20, 2015, which was her 31st marathon.

Green, who is the mother of three boys – Daxton, 11; Konrad, 9; and Jace, 7, told Runner’s World that running helped her to be a better mother,

[pull_quote_center]Running is honestly my sanity and therapy…As far as having children and going through raising them and being committed to them all day, it really helped me give more to them instead of going crazy.[/pull_quote_center]

In order to properly train for marathons, Green runs about 125 miles a week. She also runs 6 days a week, leaving out Sundays for worship and quality time with her family.
