Our Sharing the Gospel Through Social Media series is designed to help you become more effective from wherever you are starting. Our articles are designed for easy navigation so you can find the information that will help you. We have an article on each of the major social media sites, and will add information as new social media sites gain popularity. Each site’s article covers how to determine if that site is an ideal fit for the way you use social media, learning how to get started, how to best connect with others on the site, and finally how to contribute your own voice. If you’ve never used the site before, start at the beginning. Otherwise jump in wherever works best for you.
Decide if the Site’s for You
The section of each article covers the size and engagement of users on the site. It looks at the demographics of the users, and looks at what the site is most often used for. The article then covers the basic features of the site, and ends with a conclusion of what type of users the site is ideal for. If you’re wondering about which social media sites to join, start here.
Learn About the Site
The second section of each article will cover everything starting with signing up. It walks through the how to of the sites basic features, including some you may not be aware of if you already use the site, but only casually. The section covers the basic terminology used on the site, and then looks at what basic success measurements are built into the site.
Connect with Others
This section gets you jump started by taking you the profiles of the most prolific LDS users of the site, so you can connect right away. Then it walks you through the steps you can take to most effectively build your own connections on the site.
Contribute the Gospel
The final section of each site article contains the most valuable information for users already comfortable with the site. This article focuses on ways to work on the site that are most efficient for getting others to engage and respond to your content.
