The Ultimate Guide to Women in the Scriptures
We’ve all heard of the big names: Eve, Mary, Sariah, Emma, etc. But did you know that there are hundreds of women listed in the four standard works? Faithful women like Hannah, Zipporah, Priscilla, Abish, and Egyptus are often overlooked in favor of more remarkable stories; however, these women typify what women in the gospel are like: flawed, varied, remarkable, strong, humble, faithful … The list goes on and on.
Below we have gathered a list of many of the prominent women in the scriptures, their accomplishments, their trials, and what we can learn from each of their examples. This list is not exhaustive. Many of the women in the Bible (especially) are only listed once, in genealogies. The women below are a bit more prominent.
Here is a guide to help you in your studying:
Old Testament
Israelites
Gentiles
Pearl of Great Price
New Testament
Jews
Gentiles
Book of Mormon
Pioneers (not many women are listed in the D&C, but these women would have been among the Saints hearing these revelations)
