Ward and Stake Calendars Now Easier to Use

A November 27 update to ward and stake calendars now make them easier to use for Church leaders and families.

Along with improvements, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ new version for the calendar includes training resources for building schedulers, leaders, and members.

Each building now has its own calendar which will only be available to the building scheduler. Building schedulers are not only responsible for managing the ward calendar, but they also schedule the building for funerals, cleaning assignments and individual family events—not ward and stake events. Ward and stake leaders can reserve the building when they put events on their own calendars.

Ward council and stake council members are all able to make changes to their ward calendar and to schedule events for their organizations. Scheduling an event is easier than ever before. All users need to do is click the + sign in the top right corner and continue filling the boxes with the necessary information.

If there is a scheduling conflict, the leader who is trying to reserve the date will receive a notification and information on how to resolve the conflict, all of which can be done without contacting the building scheduler.

Only specific people have access to multiple calendars. For example, high councilmen can view calendars for every ward in the stake and full-time missionaries can see the calendars for the units they are serving in.

Members can now subscribe to the different calendars they wish to view and parents can choose to view calendars from their children’s youth organizations.

Anyone with an LDS.org account can access the calendars after signing into their account. For help on how to use the calendars, click on the question mark on the top right corner for a reference guide.
